What is a Piebald (Pied) Ball Python?
Dramatic patches of pure unpigmented white across the body, interrupted by sections of normal brown-and-gold pattern. The white-to-colored ratio varies widely between individuals — high-white examples are especially prized.
- Genetics
- Simple recessive — a snake must inherit two copies to show pied; visually-normal 'het pied' carriers look like normal ball pythons.
- Typical price
- $150–400 (visual; high-percentage-white animals cost more)
Husbandry is identical to a standard Ball Python — temperature, UVB, humidity, diet and enclosure are all the same. Only the appearance (and price) differs.
