What is a Banana Ball Python?
A bright lavender-to-tan base overlaid with vivid yellow-gold blotches and scattered dark-purple 'freckles' that multiply with age. One of the most recognizable and popular ball python morphs.
- Genetics
- Co-dominant (incomplete dominant) — a single copy gives the banana look; the homozygous 'super banana' is even more washed-out and high-contrast. Notably sex-linked: banana sires tend to produce mostly male banana offspring, banana dams mostly female.
- Typical price
- $50–150 (single-gene; once one of the priciest morphs, now common)
Husbandry is identical to a standard Ball Python — temperature, UVB, humidity, diet and enclosure are all the same. Only the appearance (and price) differs.
